About Gateway Community Church

Gateway Community Church meets every Sunday at Rita Smith Elementary off of Country Club road (FM 1378) in Wylie, Texas. We serve the communities of Wylie, Sachse, Murphy, Lucas, St Paul, Parker, & Lavon. We have two service times: 9:30am and 10:50am. Care for infants and toddlers is extended through both services. Two years - Pre-K Sunday School is available both hours during worship. Our Youth program meets at 9:30am while our school-aged children meet beginning at 10:45 each Sunday.

We offer a comfortable environment. Dress casually and expect to be greeted by friendly people who are genuinely glad to see you. Our praise team leads the service with contemporary Christian music selections that set the stage for Pastor Blake's practical and conversational-style sermons.

Mission Statement

"To the glory of God, Gateway Community Church exists to see individuals conformed to the image of Christ as they experience God in worship, grow through learning and applying the Bible, exercise their gifts to serve others and use their impact to expand the Kingdom."

Gateway History

Gateway Community Church began like many churches in this area: in a daycare generously offering it's facilities to 12 core families transferring from First Baptist Garland. Eight years later, we've seen over 100 people baptized, many new parents and graduates, and a growth of about 20-25% each year. We are blessed to own the plot of land directly in front of Smith Elementary for our future building, with groundbreaking scheduled for October 18, 2009. But numbers aren't everything. We continue to disciple our people, grow our leadership, and follow the Biblical example set by the early church in prayer and felllowship to impact the kingdom of God.

WELCOME FROM PASTOR BLAKE

Thank you so much for taking a few minutes to explore what we're all about at Gateway. The best way to get a feel for who we really are is to come visit us one Sunday morning.

Our primary goal during our Sunday morning worship services is to help people connect with God in a life-changing way. We hope that you'll come for a visit very soon and when you do, I'd like to meet you and have a chance to say hello.

In Christ,
Dr. Blake Switzer, Pastor

Real Life Stories

Lanay and FamilyGateway is the first church I have belonged to that I actually look forward to going to church services on Sunday mornings! It truly does feel like a family. My children love the Sunday School program and always leave their classes with big smiles and stories to tell. Since I have been attending Gateway, I have a renewed desire to read the Bible and to serve. Im so thankful for the positive impact Gateway has had on me and my family.

Barry and JoanneBeing on the front lines with a new church body and watching God build His church is exciting to us. We love interacting with new believers who have come to know Christ in a personal way at Gateway. We also love investing time in young couples who are seeking to grow spiritually.

King KidsWe have a blast learning about the Bible at Gateway. We have discovered that the Bible really is the true Word of God. We really enjoy talking about God with people our own age in our youth and childrens classes. It really makes us stronger. The music is really cool, too!

Jeff and JenniferGateway has been a wonderful place for us to get back on track spiritually. The church feels like a big family and we have had so much fun getting to know other couples in our Bible study group. We are blessed to worship among a group of people who truly take care of each other.
