Worship is the human response to God’s revelation of Himself. According to Romans 12:1-2, the proper way to respond is by presenting our bodies as “a living and holy sacrifice,” by not being “conformed to this world,” but “transformed by the renewing of your mind.”
This can’t be something we do only on Sunday or by singing a song. We worship daily with our lives. So, when we gather corporately to lift our voices in song to Him, it’s not an isolated event. It’s an outpouring of adoration that is the direct result of our engagement with His presence the other six days of the week.
Each member of our Worship Team - no matter their role - is called to humbly serve our God and our church as a worship leader. We can’t make others respond to God, nor is it our responsibility. But there are two things a worship leader can do.
First, we can and should respond to God with worship. God created the human race to worship Him (see Isaiah 43:7), so we should worship! And if we hope to influence others to worship, we must worship! Albert Schweitzer said, “Example is not the main thing in influencing others, it is the only thing.”
Second, we can and should speak, sing, play, create, and use technology in such a way that the people we hope to lead have every opportunity to respond to God with worship. The work of our Worship Team comes together on Sunday to create an environment, and we strive to make it an environment that helps and encourages our people to encounter Jesus and respond to Him in worship.

As worship leaders, our mission is to create a musical, visual, and spiritual environment that provides the opportunity to encounter and respond to Jesus Christ.
